The Pack A.D. Announce North American Tour; 'Do Not Engage' Out January 28

The Pack A.D., the Vancouver-based band NPR described as a “fantastically gritty rock duo” and RCRD LBL said ”pound punk and garage rock into a fuzzy pulp,” have announced the first leg of their 2014 tour, which stretches across North America and kicks off January 31 at Barboza in Seattle.

Becky Black (vocals/guitar) and Maya Miller (drums) recently announced the Jan. 28 release of Do Not Engage, their full-length Nettwerk Records’ debut, which was produced by Jim Diamond (White Stripes, Electric Six, The Mooney Suzuki, Dirtbombs) and recorded in a Motor City chicken-processing plant.

“He’s very easy to work with,” said Miller. “He really gets us. All his instincts are very much anything that we would think of at any given time. We’re all sort of organically working together and it’s really easy. It’s just like friends hanging out. We didn’t go out looking for a producer, let’s put it that way. That came naturally. We were friends first and it kinda went from there, and that’s how we try to approach everything with our music.”

Last Call with Carson Daly caught up with The Pack A.D. while they were in Los Angeles for Filter Magazine’s Culture Collide Festival. The segment, which includes both an interview and live performance footage, can be viewed HERE. AXS Live aired two songs from the band’s recent Los Angeles performances: “Animal” and “TheWater." Watch the "Animal" performance above.

Filter Magazine, who said The Pack A.D. “know how to make some truly hard-hitting garage-rock” and added that duo’s songs “are filled with an incredible energy that just lets loose with each performance,” recently premiered the band’s video for “Big Shot."
